Biography

Josephine Fontenot, daughter of Louis Belaire Fontenot and Marie Joubert, was born in St. Landry Parish.[1]

She married Auguste Ledoux, son of Francois Ledoux and Modeste Rougeau, on 12 May 1818 at St. Landry Parish, Louisiana[1]

She married Hypolite Ritter, son of Henry Ritter and Marie Magdeleine Jeansonne, on 5 Jan. 1831.[1]

Her children were baptized at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.

Josephine died about 1844, her succession a long document of some 64 pages was in 1847.[1][2]
