Biography

Mary Polly Forney was born about 1821 in Pennsylvania.[1] She was probably the daughter of Henry Forney and Mary Elizabeth Ritter.[2]

Polly married Abraham Fry on April 12, 1840 in Stark County, Ohio.[3] They had one known son, William H. Fry.[1]

After Abraham died, Mary married Reuben Lautzenheiser on January 9, 1851 in Stark County.[4] They had one known son, Scott Lautzenheiser, who is 19 in the 1880 census.[5]

She died on April 10, 1900 [6] and may be buried in Waterloo Cemetery, Waterloo (DeKalb County), Indiana.[2]

Notes

The FindAGrave memorial which has no sources, nor images gives Mary's birth date as April 30, 1826.[2] It is highly unlikely that Mary married Abraham Fry when she was only 13 years old. Also, the census information does not corroborate that late date. The 1850, 1860, and 1880 census all have a birthdate of 1821 in Pennsylvania.

I suspect this is a member of the Cadiz, Harrison County, Ohio Forney family that migrated from York Co., PA. Since there are no sources to attach her to this family I am detaching her.
