Mildred Fountain, born 1917, was the daughter of Walter Paul Fountain & Edith Carol (Roach) Fountain.[1] She married Dwight Hastings Fowler, Jr. on 1 Mar 1941 in Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico. He was born 26 Nov 1918 in Raton, Colfax County, NM, the son of Dwight Hastings Fowler, Sr. and Laura Viola (Howard) Fowler. Mildred's husband of just fourteen months died in the Bataan Death March of World War II. She did extensive genealogy research on the Roach/Roche family history for many years prior to her death in 2009 at Cottage Grove OR.
Mildred F. Fowler of Cottage Grove died Dec. 21 of age-related causes. She was 92. No service is planned. She was born Sept. 3, 1917, in Foley, Ala. She married Dwight Hastings Fowler in 1941 in New Mexico. He died in 1942. She received an associate’s degree from Santa Ana Community College. She worked for Rockwell more than 30 years as a patent associate. Survivors include her adopted daughter, Kerri Campbell of Cottage Grove, and two grandchildren.
