Biography

Thomas was born Thomas Nicholls in Tenby, Pembrokeshire, Wales, United Kingdom and was registered^[1][2]by his mother Margaret Fowke during the third quarter of 1847 in the district of Pembroke, Pembrokeshire. He is the son of Charles Fowke and Margaret Fowke.
Thomas was baptised^[3][4][5]on 14 August 1847 in an Anglican church in the parish of Tenby. The register states no father and the family are residing in Cresswell Street, Tenby.

He immigrated to New Zealand. He worked on the railways from 1866 to 1906. He married Charlotte Rogers in 1873.^[6][7] He passed away in 1938.^{[8][9][10][11]}

Research Notes

The parents of Thomas had their marriage registered^[12]during the third quarter of 1847 but the assumption is that the wedding date was during the six week period after the baptism date of 14 August 1847.
