Biography

Son of William Downard Frame and Susannah (Frame) Frame.

William's birth date comes from research of Warren Louis "Tuck" Forsythe; John B. Ringer had the full birth date.

Their research had his wife as Mattie Hatfield, b about 1836.

William does not appear in his parents' household in the 1850 Census for Wills Township, Guernsey, Ohio.

It's possible he is the William Frame listed in the 1850 Census for Liberty Township, Guernsey, Ohio in the household of miller Joseph Brown and his wife Margaret. Wm. Frame was age 23, b. Ohio.^[1]

In 1860 William appears in the census record for Buncombe Township, Sioux, Iowa. He was age 31, born in Ohio.^[2]He was single and farming near Sioux City.

William married Victoria Hatfield 21 Nov 1868 in Woodbury, Iowa.^[3] Census and other records enumerate her as "Hattie" V. Frame.

In 1870 W H Frame was age 45 and living in Liberty, Clarke, Iowa. His wife H V Frame was listed as age 25, born in Minnesota. Their daughter Luella Frame was age 1 month, b in Iowa.^[4]

In 1880 William H. Frame was living in Ellis County, Texas, where he was farming. He was age 53, b in Ohio, father reported b in Maryland. His wife Hattie V. Frame was age 34, b Ohio, father b NY, mother b Pa. Daughter Luella was age 10, b in Iowa. Son William H. was age 7, b Iowa. Daughter Mabel was age 3, b in Texas.^[5]

The will of W. H. Frame names wife Hattie V. Frame who was executrix, and children William H., Luella and Maybell Frame. The will was dated 11 Apr 1882. Witnesses were George Fugate and A. M. Morrison. It was filed 22 Dec 1883 and recorded 1 Apr 1884.^[6]
