Biography
Johann Georg Frank was a Volga German.
Johann Georg Frank was born about 1756-1757. He is listed as Johann on arrival to the Volga German colonies with his parents Johann and Appolonia Frank who settled in Stahl am Tarlyk colony in 1767. The Oranienbaum passenger list records that this Johann Frank came from the region of Fochtlandia.[1]
The 1798 Stahl am Tarlyk census states Johann Georg Frank is from the colony of Jost.[2]
His wife is listed as Dorothy (listed as Fish'ais, possibly Fischer?). Based upon Mai's narrative and names, Dorothy Fischer is the daughter of Johannes and Anna Maria. Regina Dorothea Fischer is age 8 in 1767 (1759) which matches to Dorothy listed at age 40 in 1798 census in Stahl am Tarlyk.[3]
He is listed in 1811 census records with is sons: Johann Philipp, Johann Christian, and Johann Christoph Frank.[4]
