Biography

Harriet, first born of William Norris Franklyn and Mary Buckingham, in 1829, She married a surgeon, Henry Jones in 1856 at St Mary's Willesden. The service was conducted by her cousin, the Rev. Robert Finch, Rector of Pangborne and witnessed by her father and her cousin Maria Finch, and Henry and Fanny Jones, parents of the Groom. They had no children and she died at 22 Albion St., Hyde Park London in 1923. I have many letters which Harriet wrote to her nephew, Richard who had emigrated to Melbourne, Australia, which he had carefully kept and had been preserved for many years. These letters are an insight into life in those times, one telling of my Grandmother sitting with her in her kitchen as bombs were falling in WW1.
