Biography
Isobel Forbes married secondly Thomas Fraser of Philorth, third son of Alexander Fraser, 7th of Philorth, and his first wife, Catharine Barclay. He bought Strichen from Alexander Chalmers, presumably the heir of her first husband.
They had two daughters;
- Katherine Fraser, married to William Forbes of Corsindae;
- Violet Fraser, married 1593 to James Sutherland of Kinstearie
Research Notes
If Catherine Barclay is his mother, then he must have been born earlier than 1534, as on his father's profile he married his second wife in 1532, but I'm not sure if that date is sourced. Needs more investigation.
