Gordon was born about 1855. He was the son of Frederick French and Hannah Ripley. He passed away in 1890.

HE HANGED HIMSELF

At Least His Wife Says He Did; But an Inquest Will be Held

According to what his wife says, Gordon French, aged 36, of 111 Green street, Troy, hanged himself by a piece of twine to a bed post yesterday afternoon. He had quarreled with his wife. No marks were found on his neck and there are suspicions that his wife's story is not true. French, who was formerly a conductor on the Fitchburg road, left his wife three years ago and lived with another woman in New York. He returned to her last August. Coroner Foy has decided to have a post-mortem examination take place this morning. French has a mother living in Bennington, Vt.
