Biography

US Black Heritage Project
Louis Frilot is a part of US Black heritage.
Louis Frilot has French origins.

Louis Aime Frilot was born free on 19 August 1825 to gens de couleur libres Aime Frilot and Felicite Aspasie Olivier, and baptized two years later. His birth and baptism were recorded at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, Louisiana.[1]

He married Honorine Tobb on 8 February 1847; their marriage was recorded at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia, Iberia Parish, Louisiana.[1] The transcription for Honorine's maiden name is Tobb; however, the birth records and marriage records for their children have a variety of names: Rob, Robb, Renb?, Rent, Robbe, Robe, Rosie, Bobe, Babe. The bride's record for the marriage does not give her parent's names.

He was a farmer when he and Honorine and seven children appeared on the census of 22 June 1870 at Iberia Parish, Louisiana.[2] He and Honorine, a daughter and her family appeared on the census of 1 June 1880 at Belle Place, Iberia Parish, Louisiana.[3]

He died at an unknown date after 1 June 1880, probably in Belle Place, Louisiana.
