According to "Amos Fristoe of Stafford County, Virginia..." Richard's father, Richard Fristoe I was born about 1689 (or 1695), a widower with five (or six) children, and immigrated from Wales to Stafford County, Virginia about 1730, perhaps married again. Richard Sr. died after 15 Sep 1764, Stafford Co., VA.
There is another Fristow/Fristoe line from Wales, descended from Robert Fristow/Fristoe who was born in about 1615 in Glamorganshire, Wales. He immigrated to Virginia in 1635. He married Dorothy Mansell, daughter of Richard Mansell. They had six children. Descendants and relatives lived mainly in Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri and Texas.
Richard appears with his father as "Richard Frister Jr." in a tobacco tender's list of lower Stafford County, Virginia (south of Potomac Creek) in 1724. His age is given as 10 years.

Also, apparently a tradition names the wife of Richard Sr. of Stafford as "Mary Williams" which is the name of a proven wife of George Fristoe of Richmond County. George is about the right age to be his father. It could be a coincidence but I think there's more to this family.
