First child of William and Phoebe nee Fleming

PHOEBE MARY "Mary" who was bom in Queensland on 4 February 1872, was sent to a private boarding school called Duporth, at Oxley, Brisbane, with her sister Jessie. The school was run by the O'Connor sisters.

Mary never worked and remained single, she lived for some time with her sister Jessie and brother Moreton above the Royal bank premises in Quay Street Rockhampton, where her father was manager, prior to moving to Brisbane on his death, and to her own home, where according to the Qld Post Office Professional and Trades directory of 1924, she lived in Hope Street, South Brisbane where her niece Phil visited her regularly until Mary's death.
