Obituary

LATE ALBERT H. FUTCHER

The death occurred at the Crookwell District Hospital on Thursday, August 19, of Albert Futcher, aged 77 years.

His passing was not unexpected as he had been in failing health for some considerable time, having spent the last two months in hospital.

Born in London, he came to Australia with his sister, Annie (Mrs. Van Kampen) in 1888 in the S.S. "Oroya."

Having lost both his parents, he came out to his uncle (the late Henry Kensit, of "Woodford," Narrawa) with whom he lived for many years. Later, he lived in Wheeo on a property left to him by his uncle. There he lived until his death. From this home he also managed a property he purchased .near Binda.

Mr. Futcher was highly respected in the Narrawa, Wheeo and Crookwell districts for his kindly disposition and generously contributed towards the Crookwell Hospital and many other institutions.

The deceased was a bachelor and is survived by one sister in. England (Mrs. F. Crowfoot) and several nieces and nephews in Sydney.

A service was held in St. Bartholomew's Church of England on Friday, August 20 by the Rev. J. G. Donoghue. The remains were then conveyed to Sydney for cremation at the Northern Suburbs Crematorium.

The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. T. E. Kennedy, of Crookwell.
