Emily O. Galatas was born on 27 June 1889 at Husser, Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, USA.[1] She appeared on the census of 19 June 1900 in the household of her parents, Frank Galatas and Elvecar (Brown) Galatas, at Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. [2]
She married Simon Husser, son of Louis Husser and Matilda C. (Baham) Husser, circa 1905. [3][4]
She and Simon appeared on the census of 30 April 1910 at Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana.[4] She and Simon appeared on the census of 9 Jane 1920 at Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana.[5] She was a farmer when she appeared on the census of 8 July 1940 at Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana.[6]
Emily died on 26 Feb. 1973 at Seventh Ward General Hospital, Hammond, Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, at age 83 and was buried at St. Dominic Catholic Church Cemetery, Husser, Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana.[1] Her memorial has a photo of her headstone and links to those of family members.[7]

Died at 6 a.m. Monday at Seventh Ward General Hospital, Hammond. She was 83, a native and resident of Husser. Body at Tomas Funeral Home, Hammond, with visiting after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Religious services at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Husser at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial in church cemetery. Survived by four daughters, Mrs. Nelos (Irma) Corkern, Ellen Husser, Mrs. Ervin (Daisy) Husser, and Mrs. Austin (Christine) Miley, all of Husser; two sons Recy Husser and Harvey Husser, both of Husser; four sisters, Mrs. Dora Carrier, Amite, Mrs. Sarah Bennett and Mrs. Maude Brannan, both of Baton Rouge and Eula Galatas, Husser; and 73 grandchildren.[1]
