DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Galbraith-2456 and Galbraith-841 do not represent the same person because: They have 2 different wives. They are not 2 separate marriages as the childrens ages overlap.

Hi, I apologise Algis Not sure exactly how to separate the families. I'm new to this so I'll leave it to you, cheers, Tom.

Hi Thomas,

You will notice that I have removed Robert Galbraith & spouse from my tree. This is because I am no longer certain that they fit. William Galbraith who married Jean Buchanan in 1740 is a possibility that I am still investigating. Who knew there were so many Galbraith's in Scotland! However I am certain that my John Galbraith married Margaret McLachlan(1793-1862) They are the parents of my grt-grt-grandfather William who came to New Zealand in 1859. I suspect that your John Galbraith who married Isabella Bulloch is a different John. I was wondering about 2 marriages but this cannot be true as the children's ages of both Johns overlap. This is why I am reluctant to do any merges further up the tree as this might compromise more recent family data. I recently had DNA tests done. Have you or any of your immediate family had any testing done? We could confirm/exclude any match to our lines this way. Look forward to hearing from you, Sherryn Cepulis (nee Brierly)

This John Galbraith has two wives! I know the John Galbraith in my tree married Isobel Bulloch, 22 FEB 1817, at Campsie. Here John also marries Margaret McLachlan, 17 OCT 1818 in Belfron. This must be a different John Galbraith. Cheers.

these are two different Galbraiths. We should reject the match. Algis
