Dick (Gamble) Shepard is a part of US Black heritage.

Dick was born before 1838.

In 1838, John Swann Shepard (abt.1796-1853) purchased 66 enslaved persons from Robert Gamble and Letitia (Breckinridge) Gamble, his wife. Dick was one of those slaves.[1] The slaves most likely were for Shepard's plantation called Shepards Place Plantation, Leon County, Florida.
