On April 4, 1829 Sarah H. Gannett was born in Boston, Massachusetts to parents Isaac Gannett and Mary Brown. Sarah was the fifth child born out of nine children.

On June 1, 1846 Sarah married Joseph Mansfield in Boston, Massachusetts. They had one child together.
I. Helen Josephine Mansfield b. 1847 in Boston, Massachusetts.
On October 27, 1856 widowed Sarah H. Mansfield married her brother-in-law Charles H. Mansfield in Charlestown, Massachusetts. The had no children together.
On June 22, 1854 her husband Joseph Mansfield was shot and killed in California.
Later, Sarah & Charles would divorce.
At some point Sarah moved to Paris, France with her daughter Josie, which is where she passed away and is buried.
