Biography
Herbert was born in 1864. He was the son of Julia and Francis Gapper .[1] He married Emily Bellve in 1899 [2] He passed away in 1964 age 100[3]

Levin’s oldest resident, Mr Herbert Carrington Gapper. died in the Palmerston North Hospital yesterday only five weeks after his hundredth birthday.
Mr Gapper was born in Nelson on November 19. 1864. His parents came to New Zealand on the Clifford in 1842. He was educated in the mercantile trade in Nelson and in 1881 went to Kaponga. Taranaki. In 1900 he was married in Feilding and moved to Levin [4]
