Biography

George Gardner was born on 4 December 1841 in Lower Pitt Town, New South Wales, Australia and was baptised on 21 August 1842 ^[1], the son of Andrew James Gardner and Sophia Jane (Ward) Turrell Andrew Gardner Sophia Ward and the brother of Ann Susannah Gardner, James Anthony Gardner and Robert Turrell [half].

He married Jane Sidney (Jane) Elliott on 5 November 1859 at Tambaroora, New South Wales, Australia ^[2], and they were the parents of George P Gardner (born on 20 May 1862, Rebekah E Gardnor born on 23 June 1863 and Henry E P Gardner (born 22 July 1865), William Gardner, Mary Jane Elizabeth Gardner, Hannah Gardner, Rebecca Gardner, Louisa Frances (Gardner) Kenny, George Alexander Gardner, John Thomas Gardner, Rachael Gardner, Emily Gardner, Ethel Gardner and Walter Gardner

George died on 20 March 1914 at Hill End (Tambaroora), New South Wales, Australia ^[3].

• Could someone please confirm the correct, or eliminate the incorrect, children.

George's Last Name was Gardner, not Gardiner and he married "Sydney Ann Elliott" in 1859. There were only three "GARDNER:" children registered as born in Tambaroora, New South Wales, Australia to parents George and Sydney (or Jane S) Gardner, but Sydney was recorded as Sidney Jane, not Sydney Ann. They were George P Gardner (born on 20 May 1862, Rebekah E Gardnor born on 23 June 1863 and Henry E P Gardner born on 22 July 1865.

I think that the children born at Tambaroora and Hill End are more likely to be the children of George and jane Sidney or Sidney Jane Gardner that those born in Scone or Orange, Scone is well over 4 hours drive in our time) from Tambaroora and Orange is quite a distance as well, whereas Tambaroora and Hill End have the same postcode so are the place.

Unless there is a Death Certificate for either parent or both parents, listing the names of their children it may be difficult to be absolutely certain. The children born in Urana & Paddington can possibly be assumed to not be their children.
