Biography
John was born in 1781. He passed away in 1849. He was the son of John Gardiner and Esther (Hedges-Fithian) Gardiner.
He married 1st on 18 Feb 1800 to Frances Mulford, b. 2 Aug 1780, d. 23 Mar 1814 Sag Harbor.

minister at Sag Harbor, NY from 10.2.1812 until 6.5.1832
He married 2nd on 20 Nov 1814 Mary L'Hommedieu, b. 8 Apr 1791, widow of Nathaniel Cook. She was the daughter of Samuel, who was the grandson of Nathaniel Sylvester, prop. of Sylvester Manor on Shelter Island.
