Parrish was born to Vincent Garner Sr. and Susannah Howard about 1798 in Tennessee (per censuses). Alternative birth states are North Carolina (where his parents married) and Kentucky (where he married), per many unsourced trees. His middle name is often shown as Palmore, without a source.
Parish passed away between 1860 and 1870, probably in Arkansas, based on his absence from his wife's 1870 census (source below).
Parrish P. Garner married twice. First: Parrish married Patience Williams on 26 Feb 1817 in Pulaski County, Kentucky[1] The bondsman was shown as Frederick Williams, possibly the father of Patience.
Second: Following the death of his first wife, Parrish married Jane Chapman on 6 November 1848 in Murray County, Georgia[2].

1817: Parrish married Patience Williams in Pulaski, Kentucky.
1840 Census: Parrish is a farmer in Bradley County, Tennessee. He is 40-49 years old and his wife is 30-39 years old. There are 3 sons 0-14 y.o. and 3 girls 5-29 y.o. which closely match their known children.[3].
1847: Parrish is in Tennessee at the time of his daughter Elizabeth's marriage to William Dougless[4].
About 1848: Parrish's wife, Patience, dies in Kentucky.
Nov 1848: Parrish marries Jane Chapman in Georgia. 1850 Census: Parrish is 52 (born Tenn) and living in Tomahawk, Searcy County, Arkansas, with his wife Jane (age 23, born Georgia) and their daughter Pernetta (age 1, born in Tennessee). He is a farmer.[5]
1860 Census: Parrish is 62 (b.Tenn) and living with wife Jane (31 yrs, b. Ga.) and daughter Pernetta (10 yrs, b. Tenn.) in Calf Creek, Searcy Co., Arkansas. He is a farmer and real estate value is $250; personal value is $200.[6]
Before 1870-Death: It's presumed that Parrish died before 1870, in Arkansas, based on his absence from the 1870 census of his wife and daughter in Carroll Co., Arkansas[7]. Some Ancestry.com trees give 1866 as his death year, without source.
