Biography

Meddie was born in 1886 to Richard Garrett and Lucretia Williams. She is a great x3 granddaughter of Leonard M Garrett, Revolutionary War veteran and progenitor of this Garrett line.

Meddie's father died when she was 2 and her mother remarried 3 years later to William B Wright. They had a son, then divorced by 1900, where that Census shows her mother using her married name Garrett. Meddie married Samuel Houston Ingram at age 19 on Christmas Eve. Her husband moved the family from Arkansas to Texas by 1913, where she spent the rest of her life. She outlived him by 20 years and passed away in 1972 at age 86.
