In 1901 Alexander and Mary A G Grieg, both natives of Scotland were farming in the Marquette district of Manitoba. They are listed in the household of Peter James. Mary gave her date of birth as August 15, 1878.[2]
On February 27, 1904, Mary Greig, nee Gauld, gave birth to Annie Jane Greig at Rapid City, Manitoba.[3]

Mary Gauld Grieg arrived in Canada on March 25, 1922, on the ship Tunisian. In her declaration, she cited she was 43 years old and born in Aberdeenshire. She was married to Alexander Greig. She had previously entered Canada at Montreal in 1900 and resided at Rapid City, Manitoba. She had departed Montreal in 1904 with her husband. Her current destination was North Battleford, Saskatchewan. She gave the names of Charles Greig, brother-in-law, of Aberdeenshire as a point of contact in Scotland.[4]
