Biography

John Gedney was one of the first three Inspectors of State Prisons elected on the Whig ticket in 1847 under the New York State Constitution of 1846, and drew the one year term, being in office in 1848.

Death Notice: Gedney - Tuesday, Oct 14, 1890 Ann Gedney, widow of John B. Gedney of White Plains. Funeral from the residence of her son, R. M. Gedney, 53 East 129 St., New York, Friday Oct. 17 at 3pm. Relatives and friends of the family invited without further notice.
