Biography

John George was born in Northamptonshire, England.

John was born 1 March 1865 to James and Maria (Humphreys) George ^{[1] [2] [3]} and spent his entire -- but short -- life in the town of Brackley, Northamptonshire, England.

On 18 May 1891, at the age of 26 he married Rebekah Bennett in London. ^[4] It is not known how they met and Brackley is 75 miles from London.

John and Rebekah had three children:

• Charles Edwin born 18 June 1892,^[5] christened 4 September 1892 ;^[6]
• Louisa Ann born 19 February 1894,^[7] christened 22 April 1894;^[8]
• Ethel born 7 January 1898,^[9] christened 6 March 1898.^[10]

All were born in Brackley.

John was a brewer's drayman; ^{[11] [4]} he drove the horse-drawn beer delivery wagon for the local brewery, Hopcraft & Norris. (Think about the Anheuser-Busch commercials with the huge draught horses and the wagon loaded with beer barrels.)

His death certificate says he died of pneumonia 11 November 1898 at the age of 33, "after coughing up blood for 14 years." ^[12]

About two years after John's death, his widow, Rebekah, remarried in Brackley to Edward Plevey. ^[13]
