Augustine was the stepdaughter of Claude Trenonay, a plantation owner. She married his nephew Armand Duplantier soon after his arrival in Louisiana in 1781. They had four children. Augustine died of yellow fever*. Armand then married Constance Rochon Joyce, the widow of John Joyce.
