Silas was born about 1733. He passed away in 1824.
An undated letter written by his grandson R. J. Germain (probably Germain-773) to a Charles B. Germain says that Silas' children by his first wife, a Sutherland, were Silas, Peter, Reuben and Obadiah (b 1765). He labels this "conjecture" but it's unclear whether he's referring to her last name at birth or to the children.
This letter goes on to name his children by his 2nd wife, a Vail, to be Isaac b.c. 1776, Morris(?) b.c. 1779, Sara b.c. 1771, James b. 1783 (he states that this is a fact), Stephen, and perhaps two other daughters. He also says he's uncertain about the birth order of Isaac and Morris(?).
He refers to his Uncle Obadiah, which would be German-524.
Germain-1221 is a yDNA descendant who has had a 37-marker test from FTDNA.
