Biography

Edmond was born about 1544 in Benenden, Kent, England and was the son of Gervase Gibbon. Edmond was a beneficiary in the will of his uncle John Gybbon the elder Clothmaker of Rolvenden written 20th Nov 1550 & proved 24th Mar 1551.^[1] His siblings Henry, John, Edmond, Mary & Elizabeth were beneficiaries, described as children of his brother Gervase Gibbon.

He was a beneficiary in his brother's will Robert Gibbon, written 20th Oct 1564. He was described as under 21 years old.^[2]

Edmond married Agnes Sharpe.

He was a beneficiary in the will of his father Jarvace Gybbon of Benenden written 4 Dec 1572.^[3]

Edmond wrote his will in 1607: Edmond Gibbon, gentleman of Benenden written 15 January 1607 & proved 2 Apr 1608 by the Archdeaconry of Canterbury.^[4]
