Biography
When Lydia Jane Gibson was born on May 12, 1844, in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, her father, Samuel, was 30 and her mother, Catherine, was 26. She married William Thomas Lowry on October 27, 1864. They had 10 children in 19 years. She died on August 25, 1884, at the age of 40.

(Clarion Democrat, 9/4/1884) Aug. 25th, 1884, near Strattanville, Mrs. Lydia J. Lowry, wife of Wm. T. Lowry, aged 40 years, 3 months and 13 days. Three children have preceded her to the home above. The husband and seven children the youngest, a babe of four weeks, are left to mourn her loss.
