Elisabeth Barbara (Giess) Metzger was a Volga German.
Elisabeth Barbara Giess was born 4 Nov 1819 in Stahl am Tarlyk to Johann Georg Gies and Maria Magdalena Schmidt. She was baptized on 9 Nov with godparents: H Borchdorff, Heinrich Peter Scheid, Barbara Grass, Elisabetha Friese.[1]
She married Johann Heinrich Metzger, son of Johann Gottfried Metzger, on 27 Jan 1838 in Kukus with witnesses Johann Weigand and Conrad Kichling. They were both single aged 19. Her father is listed as Johann Georg Giess.[2]
