William Gifford was born 7 May 1673 in Sandwich.^[1]

He married first, 13 March 1701/02, Elizabeth Wheaton,^[2] and second, Experience Bowerman, the widow of James Claghorn.

William Gifford made his will 7 November 1726 (the date of his second marriage; pro. 27 November 1733) naming: daughter Elizabeth; wife Experience; son Benjamin. Brother Josiah Gifford and Benjamin Bourman (Bowerman) executors.^[3]
