Charles E. Giles was born on 14 October 1843 in Boothbay, Maine. His parents were Paul Giles and Mary Ann (Pinkham) Giles[1].
He married Julia Dolloff on 9 April 1868 in Boothbay[2].
The family was living in Providence, Rhode Island by 1880 with three children (Harry, 11; Charles, 7; Sue, 1).[3] Another son, George, was born in 1882[4], and a daughter, Maria Julia, in 1887[5].
Charles died on 9 May 1926 in Providence[6] and is buried in Swan Point Cemetery[7].
