On the 13th of December 1888 in Coaticook, Quebec, Joseph married Susan Alice Laura Lee (Jones) Gill (1869-1905) (Alice), born in September 1869 in California, daughter of William Jones of England. They had two children:
In the 1900 US census, he was living with his wife Alice of 11 years, son Jesse and son Gardner. They immigrated in 1893 and he was working as a Carpenter.[3]
He petitioned to become a naturalized US citizen on October 13, 1902.[4] Alice passed away the 19th of April 1905 at the age of thirty-five.[5]
In the 1910 US census, he was widowed, still living in Lowell, Massachusetts with his 18yrs old son Jesse.[6]
Death
Joseph passed away the 21st of July 1943 in Lowell, Massachusetts at the age of eighty.[7]
