Biography
Virgil Gilley was enumerated as son of the head of household in Justice Precinct 4, Cass County, Texas for the May 12, United States Census, 1910. He was noted as born 1902 in Texas and single. He was a farm hand (house farm) as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Daniel W Gilley, wife Ozella Gilley, daughter Eula Gilley, daughter Beulah Gilley, daughter Pearl Gilley, son Davis Gilley, daughter Bertha Gilley and son Sylvester Gilley.[1]
On April 1, 1935, Virgil H Gilley lived in Caddo Parish, Louisiana.[2]
Virgil H Gilley was enumerated as head of the household at 2901 Milton Street, Shreveport, Ward 4, Caddo Parish, Louisiana for the April 12, United States Census, 1940. He was noted as born 1903 in Texas and married. He owned a home worth $4000 and was a barber (barber shop) as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are wife Maudie Gilley and daughter Virginia Helen Gilley.[2]
