Biography

Mehitable Gilman was the daughter of Benjamin and Betsey Gilman, born in Ossipee, New Hampshire, in October 1795.[1]

Mehitable Gilman of Ossipee married James Stillings ("Stittings" on the Moultonborough marriage record and "Killing" in the NEHGR publication of the marriage records of the Rev. Jeremiah Shaw) in Moultonborough, New Hampshire, on 14 April 1816.[2][3]

Their children included:

  • Ivory Stillings, born 1819, died at Ossipee on 23 November 1894.[4]
  • Betsey G. Stillings, born in Ossipee in October 1821, married Israel R. Morton, died at Lowell, Massachusetts, 19 October 1902.[5]
  • Athalinda Stillings, born in Ossipee in 1831, married Moses Churchill, died at Lowell, Massachusetts, 19 December 1904.[6][7]

Mehitable K. (Gilman) Stilling died at Lowell, Massachusetts, on 27 December 1849 at the reported age of 54 years, 2 months, and 17 days.[1] She was married at the time of her death.[8]
