Herbert Resident 64 Dies
"Funeral services for the late Mrs. Catherine Schultz, aged 64, of the Herbert district, were held on November 12, at the Herbert Evangelical Free Church, Rev. John Unger officiated. Intermenttook place at Mount Pleasant Burial Park in Swift Current, with Gullham's Funeral Home in charge of arrangements, Organist was Mrs. Verna Priebe.
Pallbearers were Archie Klassen, Frank Hienrichs, Gordon Beisel, Robert Toews, Rudy Schultz, Melvin Biggs. Honorary pallbearers were John Hamilton and Allan Paradis.
Mrs. Schultz was pre-deceased by hir first husband Mr. David Convery in 1974; one sister and three brothers; and her parents mr. and Mrs. Jacob Ginther.
She leaves to mourn her husband Firmin of Herbert; three daughters: Sheilah (Mrs. I.W. Duncan) of Stirling, Alta., Stella (Mrs. Ron Funk) of Saskatoon, and Loretta (Mrs. P. Williams) of Slave Lake, Alta.; two sons: James of Nanton Alta. and David of Mankota.; 17 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; 2 sisters: Sarah (Mrs. E. Enns) of Regina;and Susan (Mrs. H. Heinrichs) of Regina; 4 brothers; David and Peter Ginter of Saskatoon; Bernie of Edmonton and John of Herbert; 1 half brother Abraham Niebour of Regina; and many nieces and nephews.
Catherine Schultz was born in the Rush Lake district on Jun 19, 1913. She received her education at the Donneellyvuille school. She and her first husband Mr. David Convery were married at Ernold in 1931. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Convery lived and farmed in the Ernfold district, and in 1967 the couple moved from their farm residence to Herbert. On January 4, 1957 (sic) she married her second husband Firmin Schultz in Saskatoon. Since their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Schultzhave resided in the Town of Herbert. Mrs. Catherine Schultz was a member of the Evangelical Free Church, and through the years was a very active worker in her church. While a resident of Ernfold, she was active in the United Church U.C.W. She enjoyed chrocheting, cooking, and gardening as her hobbies. Catherine Schultz was a devoted wife and mother, and always enjoyed her many firends and neighbors in her home.
Mrs. Catherine Schultz passed away at the Herbert-Morse Union Hospital on Wednesday, November 9th.
