Biography

Rosemond Girouard/Giroir, son of Auguste Girouard and Rosalie Comeau, was born 20 Aug 1835. His name "Firmin" was given to him by his godfather Firmin Blanchard at baptism, but it doesn't appear in the DOBR abstract of the register. Some researchers have decided that there were two children: one named Rosemond and another Firmin. Firmin is clearly the one who married Euralise Hebert and died in 1895 while Rosemond is the one whose birth document we can find with a sponsor named Firmin. The census of 1850 has only Firmin listed.^[1] Firmin and Uralise Hebert married 14 Jun 1858 in Terrebonne Parish. ^[2]He died 7 Dec 1895.^[3]
