p>After applying to the Governor of New South Wales for Citizenship. Carlo was subsequently issued with a Certificate of Naturalisation on 18th March 1880. (Naturalization Register No6 Page 387).</p>. p>On his application he states that his occupation is that of Fruit Grower and Farmer, he also states that he has resided in the Colony for some 6 years.</p>. p>Carlo died on 11th July 1897 (his original place of burial is unknown at this time. However, his headstone was located among an assortment of others at the rear of St Charles Church, Ryde and is now sited to the side of the church. (NSW Death Register No 09606)</p>.

[1] RYDE GENERAL NEWS. </p>. p>Death of Mr. Carlo Guilliani. - We regret to have to announce the death of Mr. Carlo Guilliani, which took place at his residence, North Road, Marsfield, on Sunday evening last. The deceased, though to all appearances a strong healthy man, had been under the medical treatment of Drs. Fiaschi, Sanderson Lloyd and W. Gordon Smith for some time for an inward growth below the chest. About two months ago the ailment grew more serious and for five weeks prior to death the deceased had to keep to his bed. The deceased was a native of Switzerland and was 60 years of age. He came to the colony some 39 years ago, and, after trying his luck on various gold fields, started in a confectionery business in premises that stood where the "Daily Telegraph" office in Sydney now stands. In this business he had for his partner his brother Joseph Guilliani, who is now one of Marsfield's aldermen. Giving up the Sydney business the deceased about 20 years ago came to this district and in the good old days of Ryde kept a hotel for some time in the well-known old premises opposite the Police Station. From the hotel he went to the property on which he resided up to the time of his death. The deceased leaves a widow and 10 children, out of a family of 12, to mourn their and loss. The funeral took place on Tuesday at St. Charles' Cemetery, the last rites being performed by the Rev. Father Cochran. A number of beautiful floral wreaths and crosses on the coffin and most of the old residents of the district attended. Amongst those present in addition to relatives were noticed the Mayor of Marsfield (Alderman H. Lovell J.P ), Messrs. Bailey, George Wicks, J.P., George Lovell, J.P. Joseph Franks, John Neil, D. Martin, J.P., R. Gallard, J. W. Rinaldi, W. Payne and H. Watts.</p>.
