Biography

Daniel was born in 1796. He was the son of Heinrich Glattfelder [1] and Margaret Heilman. [2][3][4]

He served in War of 1812. [4]

Daniel married Catharine Kling [2][3] of English descent [1] in North Codorus Township on 12 Nov 1818. [4] She was born about 1800 in York, Pennsylvania.

Ten children: [4]

  1. Margaret (1820-1896), who married Henry Miller (1817-1885) [4]
  2. Susan (1821-?) [5], who married Emanuel Ramer and then Paul Myers or Moyer [4]
  3. Elizabeth (1822-1904), who married Henry Wolf and then Israel Fishel (1809-1859)
  4. Mattie (1824-1869), who never married
  5. John (1827-1906) [6], who married Melinda Messersmith (1836-1909)
  6. Henry (1829-1896), who married Lucinda Ehrhart (1836-1874) and then Sarah Mummert
  7. Sarah (1832-1900), [7] who married Israel Folkemer (1828-1906)
  8. Melvina (1833-1889), who married Israel Eyster (1829-1906)
  9. Daniel (1835-1921), who married Margaret Wiest (1841-1890)
  10. Leah (about 1838-died young) [8]

In 1860, if this is his census record, he was living with this wife and two adult children (Martha born in 1830 and Daniel born in 1837). [9]

His wife died in 1872. [4]

He passed away in 1880. [2][3][4]

Buried in Saint Paul's Wolf's Church Cemetery, West Manchester Township, York County, Pennsylvania. [10]
