Research Notes

Per descendant, Jean Elliott (ca 2005)
Wendall was a guard with the Hampshire County Virginia Militia during the Revolution and guarded Hessian prisoners near Winchester, Virginia. Wendall died 1838. There is no listing of Wendall's burial place except he probably was buried on Martin Lein's farm and a grandson of Martin's plowed over the grave yard in the 1880s. Some tombstones were moved to the Shephardstown Reformed Church cemetery but I have not been able to find them.
