Descendant of Henry Glover who emigrated from Lancashire, England in 1640.

Biography

Samuel Stillman Glover was the ninth known child born to Alexander and Sarah (Salisbury) Glover. He was born in Conway, Mass in 1798. At the time Conway was in Hampshire county but later became part of Franklin county. In the early 1800s the family moved to Phelps, New York where the parents passed away and are buried. He married Vinera E. Powers.[1] He passed away in 1870.

Presbyterian Church
On April 22d, 1821 Samuel officially joined the Presbyterian Church of Oak Corners along with two sisters, his niece, nephew, and several others. [5]

He came to Michigan about 1833, settling in Ypsilanti.

He later moved to Livingston county, where he was living when his first wife died in 1847.

Census 1840
Samuel S Glover was living with his family in Oceola Township, Livingston, Michigan, United States. The census record shows that all ten of the members of the family were engaged in agriculture, even the two under five years of age.
His household consisted of the following:
