Biography
William Godley was born March 1, 1756 in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, a son of William Godley and Mary Margaret Rockhill. He married Abigail Grandin (1763-1798) in 1783 and they had four known children. After her death, William married her widowed sister, Elenor Grandin Covenhoven, on October 20, 1800. William and Elenor had one known son. He died September 25, 1836 and was buried at Friends Cemetery, Pittstown, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
