Biography

Eldred was born in 1917. He was the son of Abraham Goobie and Annie Butt. He passed away in 1999.

Obituary

Passed peacefully away Monday, June 28th, 1999 at the Health Science Center, Eldred Goobie, age 81. Eldred, a World War 11 Veteran RAF, was predeceased by his parents: Abraham and Annie Goobie of Queen's Cove; siblings; Mable Harris, Beatrice Cholerton and Wesley Goobie; his loving wife Kathleen. 1997. Leaving to mourn are his children Lance, wife Shelia, Sharon Jarvis, Dawn Skett (Bernard); 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; all residing in England; his brother; Roland Goobie (Jean); and his sisters; Alice Goodyear, Flora Thursten, Edna Norris (Bill) and Eliza Hussey; also a number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 329 Hamilton Ave, from 7-10 p,m. Monday; and Queen's Cove United Church on Tuesday after 12 noon. Funeral Service from Queen's Cove United Church at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30th, 1999. Interment at the United Church Cemetery, Queen's Cove. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made to a charity of one's choice or Queen's Cove United Church.
