Biography
Charlotte was born in 1793. She was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Goodship and was baptised on 27 March 1796 in Cardington, Bedford, England.[1]
She married Robert Boston in about 1813 (marriage record not located but their first child was born in 1814).
In the 1841 census Charlotte (age 45) and her children were in Wilshampstead, Bedfordshire, England.[2]
In the 1851 census Charlotte (age 58) was a lace maker and widow living in Wilshampstead, Bedfordshire, England.[3]
In the 1861 census Charlotte (age 68) was a widowed lace maker living in the household of her son John Boston in Wilshamstead, Bedfordshire, England.[4]
She died after the 1861 census. She was probably the Charlotte Boston whose death was registered in the Apr/May/Jun quarter of 1861 in Bedford. [5]
Research notes
Marriage record not yet located but the maiden name 'Goodship' is recorded for Charlotte in the marriage record of her son Joseph who emigrated to the United States.
