Austin Robert Goodwin was born on February 11, 1905 in Wood Point, Westmorland, New Brunswick, Canada, son of Charles R. Goodwin (1874–1921) and Lena M. Tower (1874–1961).

Austin (24) married Phoebe Ford McWilliam (24) (born on February 2, 1905 in West Branch, Weldford, Kent, New Brunswick; daughter of Ernest McWilliam and Laura Jane (Cail) McWilliam) on December 28, 1929 in Moncton, Westmorland.
Austin died in 1972 in Sackville, Westmorland, aged 66. He was buried in Sackville Rural Cemetery, Sackville, Westmorland County, New Brunswick.[1]
