William Gosset, son of Matthieu Gosset and Margeurite Durell, was baptised on 26 Jan 1782 in Jersey, Channel Islands.[1]
He joined the military and held the offices of :

He died on 27 Mar 1848. An inscription at St Luke's Church, near Woolwich, reads : Bless the Lord, oh my Soul, and forget not all His benefits, Who forgiveth all thine iniquities and healeth all thy diseases, Who preserveth thy life from destruction.
