Mary Gosten is a very rare name, found locally only at her marriage in Atwick 1790, and a sister Ann in 1791, and a marriage in Rise 1773 which is rather too close: nor is there any obvious corruptation. IF we guess birth dates they would have to be about 1770 as the marriage produces six children: the first in Atwick and the other five in Withernwick.
Thomas Mercer marries Mary Gosten (or by some accounts Gofton check the original Register) in Atwick near Hornsea in 1790. [1]
