Biography

Edward F was born in about 1874 in Islington, London He was the son of Edward Frank Gothard and Caroline Wright. He was baptised on 27 Dec 1874 at the local church, St Marys, Islington London^[1]

In 1891 he was aged 16, working as a Fitters apprentice and the eldest of 9 children living in Burton upon Trent ^[2]

He married local girl Caroline Lydia Cramp in 1896 in Burton upon Trent ^[3]

Five years later they are in Derbyshire with four month old Elsie and have two boarders. He was was working as a general labourer and aged 26 ^[4]

In 1911 he was a hot water engineer and the family of Caroline and 5 children, lived in Wellington Street. This record shows that 4 more children had died

Edward died in Burton upon Trent in 1922 and was burind on the 21st of Jan ^[5]
