This profile seems to be the start of a conflation of two pedigrees One from the West Country and one from Hertfordshire.

The West country Goulds ( ie Somerset and Dorset and Devon (Seaborough is on the border of Somerset and Devonand is now in fact in Dorset) was an important one in the area with many prominent in local and national history (several MPs) including this man's father who was MP for Dorchester.I

Robert Gould of Seabrook, wife Idonea Mycheldever was according to Vivian (vistations of Devon)the father of Thomas of Seabrook . Why would he die in Bovingdon and have a child born in Bovingdon? The Visitation continues with a son Thomas Gould married to an Eleanor Staverton but once again they are 'of Seaborough' not of Bovingdon Herts.
