Biography
Marjory was born about 1438 eldest child to Robert Graham and his wife Janet Lovel.
About 1455 she married John Erskine eldest son and heir of Alexander Erskine of Dun. Her husband succeeded to the title about 1465 and she became Lady of Dun.
John Erskine and Marjory had issue:
- John Erskine, 4th of Dun d. 9 Sep 1513 at Flodden
- Thomas killed at Flodden
- Alexander portioner of Fordes (Fordhouse).
- Gilbert mentioned in taillie in testament of his brother John in Aug 1513
- Henry mentioned in taillie in testament of his brother John in Aug 1513
At Dun on 10 March 1490/1, John Erskin, elder of Dun and Marjorie Graham, and their son John Erskin, younger fiar of Dun, granted 20 shillings furth of the Bein croft in barony of Dun, and other properties in Montrose, for a chaplain to the altar of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the parish church of St Andrew the Apostle in Dun. [1]
Marjory died on the 17 May 1504 at Dun and was buried there. The Obits of the Lairds and Ladies of Dun record her death as follows: Ane nobill woman, Dame Mariorie Grahame, umquhile Ladie of Dwn, depairtit Deit and bureit fra this lyff upone the sevintein day of Maij, the yeir of God, jaj v c and four yeirs. in Dwn. [2]
